Amanda Berlin

Amanda Berlin is the Senior Product Manager of Cybersecurity at Blumira, where she leads the incident detection engineering team responsible for developing new detections based on threat intelligence and research for the Blumira platform. She brings nearly two decades of information security experience to her role.

Amanda is the co-author of Defensive Security Handbook: Best Practices for Securing Infrastructure, published by O'Reilly Media. The book is a comprehensive guide for building an information security program from the ground up, and is used by security practitioners and educators worldwide.

A sought-after industry speaker, Amanda has presented at RSA Conference, DEFCON, Blueteam Con, and other major security events. She is the co-host of the Brakeing Down Security podcast, which covers cybersecurity, privacy, compliance, and the regulatory issues security professionals face. She is also the CEO and co-founder of Mental Health Hackers, a nonprofit dedicated to raising awareness about mental health in the cybersecurity community.

Amanda regularly develops courses and leads tabletop exercises through organizations including Antisyphon Training and Wild West Hackin' Fest. She can be found on most social platforms as @InfoSystir, where she shares security news, cracks jokes, and posts about her love of hedgehogs.
